I am Duc Ta, a photographer and watch collector based in Paris. What began as a personal obsession became 42HourVintage. Each piece in this collection has passed through my hands and my lens before reaching you.
I believe in the honest object. A watch that has lived a life tells it plainly, on its dial, in its case, through its movement. I look for the finest surviving examples of their kind. Not simply old. Worth it.
42HourVintage is the collection made public. Each listing is researched and photographed by me. If I would not keep it, I will not sell it.

The standard
Every piece judged
by the same
criteria.
There are no shortcuts in this. A watch either meets the standard or it does not. Originality matters above condition. Patina is not a flaw. The movement is the record of how a piece was cared for.
Original dial
Unrestored. No repaints, no re-lume. The dial must tell its own story.
Correct movement
The calibre must be original to the reference. No substitutions.
Period details
Crown, hands, and bracelet from the right era. Each detail is verified.
The photographs
Faithful to
every detail.
Every piece carries beauty, including in its faults. I photograph the truest version of each watch. What you see is what exists.
What I collect
Swiss mechanical.
1940s to 1980s.
My focus is Swiss mechanical watches from the post-war era through the early quartz period. This window produced the most compelling dials, movements, and references. I look only for the finest possible examples, where originality has been preserved.
